Local award-winning artist, Lynne N. Hardwick was awarded the Cutting Edge Award in the 2009 International Society of Experimental Artists exhibit.  Her featured piece, Opart III, showcases a unique, an eccentric, and an engaging style of abstract painting.  Through using multiple layers of acrylic paint and texture, Hardwick creates optical effects that subtly project the illusion of movement. 

 Opart III is part of a “Time Travelers” series of paintings the artist has been working on for several years.  Each piece from the series shares the stories of her world travels with emphasis on the antiquity of the countries she has visited. Opart III represents traveling forward in time.
